Both Tours include information shared by certified eco-trained guides about the forest, wildlife, community history, and culture. Participants receive individual safety and braking training.

What if I am afraid of heights?
It is not uncommon to have a fear of heights. Many people who have a fear of heights are still able to enjoy our Tours. You will be double-clipped to a 1/2 inch steel cable at all times when you are off the ground. Our professional guides are thoroughly trained in zipline course procedures, and will be with you throughout the entire course to clip you to the cables, answer all your questions, and provide support.

How high will I be off the ground?
During the Tour you will be anywhere from 0 feet to 70 feet above the ground.

What should I wear?
You will need to wear closed-toe shoes suitable for walking in the forest (such as tennis shoes). Wear comfortable clothing, but please avoid loose clothing (no scarves, etc.). Long hair needs to be tied back. Women should not wear skirts. Short shorts are not recommended, as they are not comfortable while wearing your harness. Dress for the weather forecasted. We do operate in the rain, so please be prepared. Please do not wear any dangling jewelry. Also, please remove all things from your pockets, such as cell phones and wallets. You don’t want them falling out during the Tour. Cameras are allowed, but must be on a strap. We will provide a secure place to store your valuables, but we prefer that you leave valuables at home or locked in your car. NORTH GEORGIA CANOPY TOURS™ is not responsible for property lost, damaged, or stolen during your Tour. top
Do you operate in the rain?
Yes, we operate in the rain. However, the course will be closed if there is lightning activity in the area. We will also close for high winds. If we know in advance that we will be closed, we will attempt to contact you at the contact number provided when you reserved your Tour. If your Tour is cancelled due to weather, you can either reschedule for another time, or we will refund your Tour cost. top
What if it is cold outside?
We do zip in cold weather, however, if the temperature dips below 32 degrees we will most likely cancel your Tour. If we cancel your Tour, we will give you a rain check or a full refund, your choice. We cannot predict the weather but will do our best to accommodate you; however, the safety of our participants is our number one concern. top
How safe is it?
All above ground adventure activities carry certain inherent risks. We have taken numerous steps to mitigate these risks. Our course was built to meet or exceed ACCT professional building standards. Our guides are professionally trained and our equipment is of exceptional quality. The course and equipment are inspected daily. top
What if I have never zipped before?
The majority of our participants have never experienced a zipline course before. Don’t worry, you will receive a complete orientation and training session before your guides lead you through the course. The training session includes a short zip a few feet off the ground, so you will know what it feels like before you start zipping the course.

Who can zip?
NORTH GEORGIA CANOPY TOURS™ is designed for use by participants of average mobility and strength, and who are in reasonably good health. No children under the age of 10 or weighing less than 70 pounds will be allowed to participate in our Tours. Children 10 - 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Participant weight guidelines: 70 to 250 pounds. Please call if you have any questions regarding weight limits. Each participant must be physically able to control the speed of their travel along the zip lines by touching the cable above their head with leather gloves provided and resting their hands above their heads on the trolley. Participants must also be able pull themselves along the zip cable a few feet in the event they lose momentum before reaching any given landing platform. The Sky Bridge Tour has two nature walks and the Adventure Tour has three nature walks totaling approximately 1880 feet on unpaved trails at inclines from 12% to 17%. Each nature walk is uphill for less than one fourth of a mile. The nature walks can be described as moderate. In addition, for the final dual zipline, participants must climb stairs on a 30-foot tower. There are three nature walks in the Adventure Canopy Tour. For additional information see Qualifications for Participation. top
What equipment will I wear on the course?
You will be fitted with a seat harness and chest harness, a trolley system, 2 lanyards with safety clips, gloves, and a helmet. The equipment is similar to rock climbing equipment, but specifically designed for a zipline course.

Who does your photography? Will they be taking pictures during My Tour? Can we bring our own cameras?
We have several photographers who take pictures of each Tour. We also allow guests to bring their own cameras (and we will take pictures with your camera). Cameras on course should have an attached strap. Point and shoot cameras are better to take on the course than bigger SLR cameras. All the pictures our photographers take of each Tour can be purchased with a Flash Drive for $40 or we sell individual pictures in three sizes 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10.
